Meet Tess

Tess likes designing spaces for people— and with that comes a deep desire to know them, to understand them, to connect with them in order to create spaces that best support them. She believes all great design is human-centered design.

A New York native and a Philadelphia graduate, Tess traded the east coast for Seattle nearly a decade ago and has been calling Capitol Hill home ever since.

Tess currently works alongside some A+ people at Gensler Seattle, designing spaces for organizations that support their culture, values, and mission. She co-leads gSEA’s Community Impact group and volunteers with Plymouth Housing through Promoters of Plymouth.

The Fellowship

Join Tess as she investigates The Built Environment of Belonging as IIDA Northern Pacific Chapter’s 2020 recipient of the Spencer de Mille Traveling Fellowship.

Awarded every two years, the fellowship is intended to support foreign travel undertaken to research new and innovative practices related to the built environment.
